Maryline and Maklin’s Ongoing Journeys
Congratulations again to Maryline and Maklin, two of our 2019 scholarship recipients!
We are excited to announce that Maklin will be defending her thesis this fall to receive her PhD in Economics from The Institute of Arab Research and Studies. This is a tremendous accomplishment given the challenges living in Yemen, a war-torn country, has presented her. The continued support is essential to her completion of this degree.
Maryline is also making excellent progress in her Bachelor’s degree in environmental science while situated in Liberia. Due to COVID, her course work is almost entirely online, and she has had to complete her semester through her phone. Regardless of these challenges, she has excelled in her coursework and is doing amazing work in her community. She is extremely grateful for the support of the Asherah Foundation in achieving the “quality of education which will give [her] the prospect to live an independent life and give to the development of my community.” -Maryline
The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly disrupted the stability of our recipients’ livelihood and economic security. The scholarship provided by The Asherah Foundation has at least allowed them to continue their education during these difficult times. We would love to support our constituent’s extra technological needs, so any additional donations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for helping us support women around the world!
