Which disciplines are eligible?

Applicants from all fields of study are eligible.

Which country do I need to live in to be eligible?

Women from across the world are eligible.

We award our scholarships to those where it can make the biggest impact. This generally means to those attending school in countries or territories classified as low-income, lower-middle income, upper-middle income, and/or fragile and conflict-affected situations by organizations such as the World Bank (FY23 list). In order to ensure maximum impact, we no longer fund students attending a college or university in high-income countries.

Due to international regulations, we are not able to provide scholarships to those attending school and/or otherwise affiliated with those subject to sanctions by the United States or the United Kingdom.

Is there an age limit?

Yes. Women must be 24 years old or older to apply.  We have an age requirement of 24 because our scholarship is for “non-traditional students,” women who are undertaking their education later in life than the norm.

How many scholarship recipients are selected each year?

The Asherah Foundation receives many applications from highly qualified candidates. A limited number of scholarships are awarded annually. As with any selection process, it is not possible to fund all the qualified applicants. No individual correspondence will be engaged to provide reasons for not receiving a scholarship.

How can I make my application more competitive?

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to create change in your community. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference. Please see our Scholarship Resource Packet for more ideas.

Note: due to the high number of applications we receive, only finalists will be contacted.
