We envision a world where post-secondary education is accessible to all women, regardless of obstacles, that is used to break cycles of poverty, displacement, and gendered violence.
We believe in the power of women to be agents of change in their communities and on the world stage.
Our Story
The Asherah Foundation was created in 2016 to provide second-chance scholarships to women around the world seeking to improve their lives and their communities by pursuing post-secondary education. All of our scholarship recipients have demonstrated leadership and resilience in the face of civil wars, poverty, forced marriages, discrimination, among other barriers.
The Mesopotamian goddess Asherah serves as our inspiration to help women to continue to be strong and to fight for their second chance at success.
The Asherah Foundation is dedicated to all women who have journeyed over rough waters in life. We seek to serve them as they continue to overcome great obstacles.
